The five and a half level open parking garage is a cast-in-place post tensioned structure that holds 560 vehicles. Challenges included making the first level office space quiet and usable for the Parking Operations. The larger challenge came from the location of the project. It is on the south edge of campus adjacent to a neighborhood that was contentious. The extra attention to the exterior design as well as choice of material mitigated much of this tension with the neighborhood. The exterior is entirely clad in random ashlar limestone masonry in the collegiate gothic style to coordinate with the rest of the Bloomington campus.
